About the Precor EFX® 885 Elliptical
The Precor EFX® 885 is a rear-drive elliptical designed for homeowners who want the smooth biomechanics and durability found in professional gyms, paired with a more interactive and entertainment-forward console experience.
Built on Precor’s EFX 800 platform, the 885 combines a natural, low-impact stride with thoughtful accessibility features that make it comfortable for a wide range of users — from beginners to experienced exercisers. It is commonly selected for premium home gyms and shared residential fitness spaces where long-term reliability, comfort, and user engagement matter.
Converging CrossRamp® Technology
At the core of the EFX 885 is Precor’s patented Converging CrossRamp® technology. The ramp adjusts between 10 and 35 degrees, allowing users to change lower-body muscle emphasis while maintaining a smooth, natural foot path that closely mimics walking and running mechanics.
The design includes a low step-over height, a 10-degree starting angle, and large open pedals, making it easy for new users to get started while still offering higher inclines and resistance levels to challenge advanced exercisers. This balance of accessibility and progression is a key reason the EFX 800 series is widely used in high-end gyms and resorts.
Handlebars and Stability
The EFX 885 features moving handlebars for full-body training along with fixed grips that provide added stability when exercisers prefer to focus on lower-body work. This flexibility makes the EFX adaptable to different training styles and fitness levels within the same household.
GEN-3 P84 Touchscreen Console
The EFX 885 is equipped with Precor’s GEN-3 P84 console, a 16-inch high-definition touchscreen designed for users who value visual clarity, guided workouts, and integrated entertainment.
The P84 provides access to structured workout programs along with streaming content and wireless screen casting. Users can access a wide range of third-party fitness and media apps directly on the console, including built-in options such as YouTube, Netflix, and PlutoTV. This makes the P84 well suited for longer training sessions where engagement and variety are important.
Designed for Long-Term Ownership
Practical design details support long-term ownership and ease of care. The covered ramp and rear drive housing allow for straightforward cleaning, while the Active Status Light provides a visual indicator when service or maintenance is needed. These features contribute to the EFX 885’s reputation for reliability and low day-to-day upkeep.
